Kelmscott Manor

Kelmscott Manor was the inspirational country home of William Morris; poet, designer, craftsman, socialist and founding father of the Arts and Crafts movement. This Grade I listed house was loved by Morris as a survival of traditional craftsmanship in harmony with the nearby village and surrounding landscape, which lies towards the very upper reaches of the Thames, inspiring many of his most important designs and writings, including world-famous Willow pattern.

Accessibility

The Manor house has step free access to the ground floor rooms only, all other buildings have step free access. A 360 tour is available via a computer tablet in the Old Kitchen. Accessible toiler available on site.

Parking

Free Parking is situated next to St George’s Church in Kelmscott. For Sat Nav, the postcode for the car park is GL7 3HF. There is a short walk from the car park to the Manor (approximately 10 to 12 minutes). Brown heritage signs will direct you to the manor. Please respect the privacy of our neighbours.

A free shuttle minibus will take visitors who are unable to make the walk to the Manor.
