Library Assistant

The Bodleian Libraries are looking for a Library Assistant to:

  • Welcome readers and visitors, and administer the Bodleian KB Chen Library and the Bodleian Japanese Library’s admissions procedure.
  • Respond to enquiries from readers, in particular in Japanese studies, and provide direction to appropriate services including front-line desk duties.

This is a permanent, part-time position, working 25 hours per week.

The post requires lone working, and some evening or weekend shifts may be required.

About You
You will have excellent customer service skills as you will work with a various range of readers and visitors.

You will be able to work under general direction as well as prioritise your own workload on a day-to-day basis.

It is ideal if you have subject knowledge in Chinese or East Asian studies including classical Chinese.
