SUNDAY 19 April 2020
Events start at 10.15 am
Blenheim 7k, 1 mile junior run and 4 miles on wheels.
Run, jog or walk for charity or for fun at the World Heritage site, Blenheim Palace, Woodstock in Oxfordshire, the stunning venue for the annual Blenheim7k on 19 April, sponsored by Freeths solicitors and the Oxford Business Park.
There are three events to offer a race for all ages and abilities: the 7k takes a scenic route around the trails and paths of the Palace, including a spectacular lakeside section. Run, jog or walk, the course offers a challenging run for the more experienced, and beautiful surroundings for the beginner or anyone who wants to take a gentle pace.
The 4-mile route follows a similar course, missing out the off-road lakeside section to make it suitable for wheelchair and participants pushing buggies. Both the 7k and the 4-mile events are chip timed.
The 1-mile race is for under 15s, starting at 10.15 am with the other events starting after it has finished, meaning that parents can watch their children and participate in the 7k run. There will also be a trophy for the first school team in this event.
The event is perfect for a group or workplace challenge and participants can choose the charity they want to support or simply participate for fun. Bring a team of friends, family and colleagues.
Sarah Foster, Managing Partner of Freeths solicitors says: “This will be our 8th year sponsoring the Blenheim 7k Fun Run. It is one of the highlights of our year and always brings together such a lovely crowd of people. Every year, quite a few of our colleagues take part and it’s great to see them bring their families and friends along. I encourage other businesses to get involved, it is a fantastic way to raise money for your chosen charities and a great way to spend a (hopefully sunny) Sunday afternoon with family, friends and colleagues.”
All finishers receive a medal and there will be trophies for the winners as well as for first team and a schools’ challenge trophy. The 7k team trophy will be presented by the Oxford Business Park who are sponsoring the run for the first time this year.
Dan Williams, Development Director at the Oxford Business Park says: “We are delighted to be supporting the Blenheim fun run, it is such a superb venue for this all-inclusive charity event, and we can’t wait for the 19th April.”
Entry to the race includes entry to the grounds, designed by Capability Brown, described as “the finest view in England.” You can spend time after the race enjoying the surroundings, visiting the palace (for an extra fee) maze or the adventure playground, bring a picnic or have lunch in the café or visit the picturesque town of Woodstock.
