Conferencing partners, Eynsham Hall kindly hosted the Experience Oxfordshire Social Media – Stay Protected Seminar on the morning of Tuesday 19th June.
The event presented by Prisca Bradley, Director at Hedges Law covered Social Media and privacy in an employment context. Prisca took the group through the Pros and Cons of Social Media and the likely offences arising from its misuse by employees. A number of interesting case studies were discussed which also allowed attendees the chance to discuss current issues in their businesses. Hayley Beer-Gamage, Chief Executive of Experience Oxfordshire welcomed attendees at the business seminar and said, “We are delighted to be able to offer another business seminar to our Experience Oxfordshire partners, it is a fantastic benefit to be able to have access to such expert knowledge that will help and inform business. and our thanks go to Hedges Law and Eynsham Hall for supporting this event.”
Prisca also talked us through conducting investigations and the resultant HR issues arising from the consequences of Social Media misuse; right the way through to including company social media rules in employee contracts.
Reflecting on the event, Prisca said, “It was great to be able to work with Experience Oxfordshire on another business seminar. These are a great opportunity for member businesses to learn about important legislation and for us to support them in their challenges. There were great discussion and debate around the case law examples which helped bring it to life.”
